Small businesses want digital tools that work together

Adding another dashboard is not always the answer to a business problem. Mastercard’s September Dreamonomics findings say surveyed small and medium-sized enterprises use five digital business tools on average. While 89% want to adopt more tools, 78% describe integrated tools as critical. [1]

The findings suggest a useful product question: does a new service remove work or create another place to enter the same information? For a fintech serving small businesses, connecting payments to records and customer activity may matter as much as adding features. A sensible evaluation should look at duplicate entry, time spent reconciling transactions and the ease of exporting business data.

Travel advisors provide a practical illustration. NextTripPro describes an offering that connects marketing, booking, group travel and rewards for travel businesses. Integration is valuable when it makes daily work clearer and keeps the owner in control.
